Jeremiah is commonly known as the weeping prophet of the Bible. Jeremiah was given the job to tell the people that their fate was doomed and Judah would undergo great suffering for their transgressions against God. The Israelites, his own people, turn on Jeremiah and try to get rid of him. He is thrown in jail and into a cistern. Jeremiah, although he is to deliver the unhappy message regarding the fate of Judah also delivers the happy message of Christ the Savior.
