In the book of Esther, the king of Persia, Ahasuerus, searched for a new Queen. He found Esther and made her Queen. Haman, who worked in the court of the king encouraged the king to kill all of God's chosen people (the Jews). Esther is a Jew and heard about this through her relative, Mordecai. Esther convinced the king to have mercy on her people. Haman's plan backfires, and he ends up dying. Today, Jews celebrate Esther saving God's people in the "Feast of Purim".
